New Men arrive in Rome

Six new men arrived in Rome on 24th August to begin their studies at the English College. After one night in Rome they have all made their way to San Giovanni Valdarno where they will undertake a four-week intensive course of Italian. This year’s new men hail from a variety of countries, with the Nordic presence at the VEC increasing dramatically. Left to right in the picture are Antonio Bajlovic (Diocese of Stockholm), Viktor Airava (Diocese of Helsinki), Marc Pitson (Diocese of Leeds), Daniel Steiner Ebert (Diocese of Copenhagen), Ryan Browne (Diocese of Portsmouth), and Mathias Ledum (Diocese of Oslo).

The arrival of these six new men takes the total number of seminarians for this year to 25 (18 from England and Wales). There will also be a total of 9 priests completing further studies resident in the college making a total of 34 students.
