To mark the end of an extraordinary year, those remaining at the VEC celebrated in style. It was not the usual end-of-year celebration, of course. For starters, there would not normally be seminarians at the College.

Kicking off proceedings for those who remained at the VEC and Palazzola over Christmas was a fabulous Norwegian feast. Our Norwegian seminarians produced pork belly, saurkraut and a delictable rice pudding for the hungry throng.

Those who had the energy then went to the terrace to witness the COVID-restricted firework display. Others went to bed.

On the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God, the Spiritual Director, Father Konrad Grech SJ, celebrated Solemn Mass. He encouraged those present to work tirelessly for the greater glory of God, under the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

We do not know what the next few months will bring. But we are excited, and look forward to a year full of faith, hope and love.
