A new priest

Congratulations to Fr Andrew Coy, ordained priest today for the diocese of Northampton.

Andrew left the VEC last academic year, as the coronavirus struck. He was ordained deacon while back in the diocese, where he exercised his diaconal ministry.

Today, the Solemnity of the Annunciation, Andrew was ordained priest.

During the Mass for the Solemnity, the schola cantorum, under the expert guidance of James Finnegan, sang Andrew’s setting of Ave Maria.

At the end of a sumptuous festal supper afterwards, the community sang the ad multos, toasting the new priest.

We wish Andrew well, and pray for him as he continues his priestly ministry in the diocese.
